Chair Ann Ainsworth writes:
As Covid cases are continuing to rise sharply we have made the decision to organise the Charity Quiz on 27th April as a Zoom quiz. We are suggesting a donation of £5 to participate . We will send out an invite nearer the time as well as a reminder about how to make your charitable donation. Given the financial challenges continuing to face many people we are proposing that the proceeds will again benefit local food banks. I have copied all of you who took part in the Zoom charity quizzes we organised previously into this email for information.
We have also decided because of concerns teams may have about attending large events to forego the Brain of Derbyshire competition this year. This is unfortunate but we feel necessary because of the continuing uncertainty. We usually organise our presentation evening to coincide with his event. As an alternative this year we will now make presentations to division winners and Open Trophy and Plate winners at the AGM in September.
The Open Trophy and Kendall Consolation Plate finals will take place on 4th May as planned at one of the home venues of the teams involved. We are investigating the best options to ensure that any spectators who wish to attend can be accommodated and that there is good accessibility. As usual question askers will be nominated by the committee in the interest of fairness and neutrality.
