For the last 28 years, the Royal Statistical Society has published a brain-melting Christmas Quiz to baffle and entertain puzzle fans over the festive break – and this year is no exception. You’ll need a combination of general knowledge, logic, lateral thinking, and searching skills to successfully crack this year’s set of eleven puzzles – but as always, no specialist mathematical knowledge is required. (Rules)
The 2021 Christmas Quiz will run through till Monday 31 January 2022. There are book token prizes.

DPQL Postponements – 5th, 12th 19th January

Don Ingham writes:-
Due to the existing uncertainties and current restrictions which are starting to come into effect, the committee has decided to suspend the league at the beginning of January with no play on 5th, 12th or 19th. The committee is meeting at the start of January when hopefully we will have a better view of the future and the current pessimistic outlook may be improving. We will inform you then when we hope to restart the fixtures and I will send out a new fixture list to you all (we expect to just move existing matches back until free Wednesdays are taken up – no major rejig).
Please make sure your pubs and team members are informed of this.
