The DPQL committee is now planning the new season. The likely start date will be October 5th. The AGM will be on August 31st at the Strutt Club, Belper at 8pm. We have concluded that the best structure will be four divisions of 8 teams each which will return us to the situation we had before the East, West and South divisions. That will mean better geographical spread of teams in each division which accords with the feedback we have had. We are also proposing to drop the split of divisions half way through the season. In the proposed eight team divisions each team will play the other teams three times giving 21 matches for the season. We will ensure that teams get, as near as possible, an equal number of home and away matches.
We are always eager to introduce new teams to the league. If you can recruit a new team then we will reduce your league fee for this season by half and that of the new team.
We have decided to maintain the league fee at the same rate as last year i.e. £65 if paid before the start of the season and £70 if not.
If you would like to participate next season then please let me [Tim Ainsworth] know by Monday 8th August. Please confirm your pub name in your reply and let me know if there is any change to your pub/club or team contact details. Would you please pay your league fee at or before the season start and send your payment to our treasurer: Sally Levitt [at her home address]. Please write your team name on the back of your cheque.
